At about 11:40 am on Saturday, the 31-year-old suspect, surnamed Liu, accelerated to 108 kilometers per hour in seven seconds, ran a red light at a crossing, struck pedestrians who were crossing the street and then left the scene.
Police said on Sunday afternoon that Liu wanted to take revenge on society after experiencing financial failure and losing confidence in life.
