20 websites of illegal social organizations shut down

BEIJING - Chinese authorities have shut down 20 websites of illegal social organizations in a special campaign, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said Saturday.
Investigations were concurrently carried out following 35 groups of leads, which concerned 216 social organizations.
The ministry also published a list of 160 illegal social organizations shut down by local civil affairs authorities.
Launched on March 20, the inter-agency campaign is expected to last for three and a half months.
