Ukraine starts distributing CoronaVac vaccine to regions
KIEV - Ukraine has completed laboratory studies of the CoronaVac vaccine produced by Chinese company Sinovac Biotech and is starting to send the vaccine across the country, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said on his official Facebook page on Monday.
According to the official, CoronaVac vaccine will be provided to police officers, people with limited mobility and their guardians, Olympians and Paralympians.
Ukraine officially registered the CoronaVac vaccine for use against COVID-19 on March 9.
The first batch of CoronaVac vaccine arrived in Ukraine on March 25.
Ukraine's Lekhim Group company, which has a contract with Sinovac Biotech on the distribution and localization of production in Ukraine, is to deliver the following batches of the COVID-19 vaccine to Ukraine under a contract with the Ministry of Health for the supply of 1.9 million doses of vaccine.
COVID-19 numbers have been growing in Ukraine over the past month against the backdrop of the vaccination campaign, which started on Feb. 24.
As of Monday, 1,861,105 COVID-19 cases and 37,301 deaths have been registered in Ukraine, while 1,416,215 patients have recovered, according to the health authorities.
