Ningxia blanketed in white

On the last day of February, snow fell overnight in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region. A thick, white blanket covered the Tengger Desert and Helan Mountains and dusted the top of the Desert Star Hotel, creating a peaceful urban scene. On Highway 66, snowplows cleared the way for vehicles.

As the sun peeked out of the clouds, the snow quickly began melting and and little streams of water flowed into the Yellow River.
