President Xi Jinping said on Tuesday that both China and Central and Eastern European countries believe that openness brings opportunities and inclusiveness leads to diversity, which is the fundamental reason that China-CEEC cooperation could remain robust.

Xi made the remark as he chaired the China Central and Eastern European Countries Summit and delivered a keynote speech via video link in Beijing on Tuesday.

According to Xi, trade volume between China and CEE countries has increased by 85 percent and the number of two-way tourism has increased by nearly four times compared with nine years ago. So far, the China-Europe railway express has run more than 30,000 cargo trips, covering most Central and Eastern European countries.
