China's TP200 long-endurance drone completes maiden flight

The TP200, a new large multi-functional long-endurance drone, recently completed its maiden flight in Yantai, Shandong province, marking a key milestone in its development.

During the test flight, the aircraft maintained a stable and controllable flight attitude, with its climb altitude, cruising speed and other core performance indicators meeting design requirements, according to Yitong UAV System, a private drone manufacturer based in Yantai.

Designers said the TP200 also demonstrated strong short takeoff and landing capabilities and exceeded expectations in overall flight stability.

The drone features a high-aspect-ratio, high-wing configuration designed for high-altitude, long-endurance operations. It has a maximum flight time of more than 24 hours at full load, a service ceiling of 7,000 meters, a maximum cruising speed of 200 km/h and a range of up to 3,000 km.

Capable of taking off and landing within 300 meters on unpaved runways, the TP200 is well suited for operations in mountainous areas, islands and other locations with basic airstrips.

The drone adopts a modular, multi-configuration design that enables rapid payload integration and mission switching. Combining a large payload capacity with long endurance, it can support a wide range of low-altitude operations, including long-range maritime patrol, offshore search and rescue, weather modification, meteorological observation, drought-relief rainfall enhancement, emergency supply delivery, forest and grassland fire patrol, land surveying and ecological monitoring.
