In Heilongjiang, virus continues to trickle
Heilongjiang province reported one locally transmitted confirmed case and three asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the provincial health commission said.
The confirmed case, which was reported as a suspected case in the port city of Dongning on Thursday, involves a 69-year-old male resident who is the husband of a woman confirmed with COVID-19 on Dec 10.
The husband was found positive for coronavirus on Sunday and was then classified as a confirmed case, according to his epidemiological history and clinical manifestations.
The three asymptomatic cases that were reported in Suifenhe — a 39-year-old female resident, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy — were found to be positive when testing was conducted on the close contacts of a previous confirmed patient. They were then diagnosed as asymptomatic, the commission said.
All the patients have been taken to designated hospitals for medical observation and treatment, and all their close contacts have been quarantined.
