The port city of Dalian, Liaoning province, reported one new confirmed COVID-19 patient and one new asymptomatic case on Sunday, the city's office for coordinating COVID-19 prevention and control with economic and social development announced in a news release on Monday.

The city now has three confirmed cases and six asymptomatic cases under medical observation.

The new confirmed case was previously classed as an asymptomatic patient under observation. The new asymptomatic one was found positive via nucleic acid testing while quarantined and was diagnosed as an asymptomatic case later.

The asymptomatic case's close contacts and related contacts are being screened and quarantined for medical observation.

Also on Monday, the office released strict measures related to five street communities in Dalian Jinpu New Area and gave notice that residents from these communities, including Youyi, may not to go out without meeting special requirements.

All public places in the five communities are closed. Middle and primary schools and kindergartens are also closed, it said.

The office also announced on Monday that anyone who has been to any of the five communities since Dec 2 should declare where they live so that free nucleic acid tests can be administered.
