China New Industry Summit opens in Baotou
The China New Industry Summit 2020 was launched in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Dec 8, according to local media reports.
Guests were invited to discuss innovative models for industrial upgrading and urban transformation, with the aim of collecting feedback and ideas for the high-quality development of the regional economy.
A centralized signing ceremony for Baotou's investment promotion projects was held at the opening ceremony. A total of 49 contracts with an investment of 67.6 billion yuan ($10.34 billion) were signed.
The signed projects cover sectors including new materials, new energy, modern business logistics and next-generation information technology.
In addition to investment signing ceremonies, the opening ceremony also featured several keynote speeches. This year's event will be streamed online, with three "cloud" forums hosted on Dec 9, 10 and 11 respectively.
