Shaanxi museums to put cultural collections online
Shaanxi province will bring more high-tech elements to its museums to display their collections online and give more people access, according to a document released by the provincial science and technology authorities on Friday.
Six provincial departments in Shaanxi recently issued a notice about changing the mode of cultural development to better provide high quality experiences to the public.
Digitization of public cultural services in Shaanxi will accelerate innovation, the notice said. Well-known museums in Shaanxi, including the Shaanxi History Museum and Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, will be the first to display their collections online.
The establishment of digital culture communities in the province will be carried out at the same time, the notice said. "One-stop" public culture services will also be provided, including a digital bookstore.
