Beijing launches multilingual service platform
Beijing municipality launched an international version of its government website recently, providing extensive information for foreign residents and investors across five sectors — working, studying, living, traveling and investing.
The site has eight languages: English, Korean, Japanese, German, French, Russian, Spanish and Arabic.
Sabrina Sicking, a German resident of Beijing, said the website is user-friendly and provides detailed information and step-by-step instruction for doing all kinds of things in Beijing.
"The best thing is it's in my native language, which makes it very simple," she said.
Li Zunwei, deputy head of Beijing's government website construction and management bureau, said it will continue to improve the website and strengthen online services for expats in Beijing to help the city become an international communication center for China.
