CPC Central Committee holds first press briefing

Establishing a press release system for the Communist Party of China Central Committee is an important institutional arrangement and institutional innovation aimed to adhere to and strengthen the Party's all-around leadership and improve the Party's governing capability, a senior Party official said on Friday.
Xu Lin, vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office, made the remarks when hosting the first press conference of the CPC Central Committee in Beijing.
The press release system was established to adapt to the development of the situation and the requirements of the times under the historical condition that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, Xu said.
The Friday briefing was held to introduce and interpret the significance of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, which was convened from Monday to Thursday in Beijing.
