On Monday, Italian jewelry brand Bvlgari introduced its Barocko collection in Beijing.

The collection, which was first launched in July, is inspired by the Baroque art trend that emerged in Rome in the 17th century.

The exhibition was held in a building named Quanye Chang, which was first built in 1905. Its design reflects the spirit of Art Nouveau, which was popular in Europe at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th, and made innovations tailored to local conditions based on the traditional Baroque architectural style.

Kolia Neveux, President of Bvlgari Greater China, thinks the collection will be appreciated by Chinese consumers. "We try to create an unexpected feeling by combining colors," he said. "As Bvlgari is a brand with 136 years of history, our motivation is not only to please consumers but also to be bold and daring enough to bring something new."

Bvlgari chose China as the first place to showcase its new collection out of Italy.

"Today China is one of the most important markets for Bvlgari, and we felt it's the right time to give China the priority," Neveux said. "China is also one of the safest countries in the world to hold such a big event without having uncertainty related to sanitary and potential health issues. So being pragmatic as well as thankful made China my first choice. "
