The Gateway to Music Festival, one of Beijing's biggest children's arts festivals, has concluded with a concert performed by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra on August 31.

Under the baton of conductor Tan Lihua, Beijing Symphony Orchestra performed music pieces including Johann Strauss's The Blue Danube and Leichtes Blut, Polka.

Gateway to Music, first held in 1995, has become a popular summer program among Chinese youngsters interested in the arts. The Forbidden City Concert Hall, organizer of the festival, has launched 24 programs from Aug 1 to Aug 31, featuring classical music, traditional Chinese music and traditional Chinese operas, such as Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the organizer also launched online shows since May 31, which have attracted about 50 million viewers in total.
