Bernard Chan, convener of Hong Kong's Executive Council, on Friday told China Daily what really concerned many of 1,300 Hong Kong-based US companies are US sanctions which will end up hurting their interests and not the new National Security Law.
Chan, a veteran businessman, said he is confident the global financial hub will survive with the central government's backing, even if the US insists on playing this zero-sum game.
