The main section of the Kunyang Road Cross-River Bridge was officially connected on May 28.
What remains of the project is the adjustment of the cable force of the bridge and the completion of the connecting roads and facilities. Completion is expected by the end of this year.
The Kunyang Road Cross-River Bridge is the 13th bridge to span across the Huangpu River in Shanghai. The structure will shorten traveling time between the city's Minhang district and Fengxian district from 40 minutes to about 5 minutes.
Another two bridges that will cross the Huangpu River – the Jiasong Highway Bridge and the S4 Fengpu East Bridge - will begin construction this year.
