Official investigated in child abuse case

A 46-year-old senior official in Langzhong, Sichuan province, is being investigated over whether he sexually assaulted a minor, according to a notice by police on Wednesday.
The notice, posted online by the Nanchong City Public Security Bureau, said authorities had filed a case for investigation.
"Li Xianfeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Langzhong Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Langzhong Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, is suspected of sexually assaulting a minor," the notice said.
Langzhong is administered by Nanchong.
