Shanghai Xinhua Media announced today that 30 of its bookstores have started offering delivery on Eleme, Alibaba's flagship takeaway-ordering app.

Several promotions will be offered through Eleme during the World Book and Copyright Day on April 23, including free shipping and a 15 percent discount on selected books.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Shanghai Xinhua Media started offering delivery services since last month. The 30 bookstores that offer delivery are located across the entire city, including Chongming, Jinshan, and Qingpu districts.

Shanghai Xinhua Media said that the books available on the Eleme platform were determined based on the characteristics of the community around each store and the needs of readers.

Readers can expect their books to arrive within an hour after making an order.
