Two new imported COVID-19 cases in Shanghai


There were two new imported cases of COVID-19 in Shanghai on Sunday, bringing the tally of confirmed cases in the municipality to 355, according to the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission.
One of the confirmed cases is an Italian who departed from Amsterdam, Netherlands on Mar 10 and transited in Paris before arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport the next day. The other person is a Shanghainese working in UK who departed London on Mar 12 and arrived at the same airport the next day.
Both persons were sent to a centralized quarantine point for observation immediately after arriving at customs.
To date, Shanghai has had 17 imported cases of COVID-19. The commission said that of the 46 suspected cases are still under medical quarantine and observation, 38 people are from abroad.
