Police detain man wounding 4 with knife at Beijing hospital

Beijing police detained a suspect who allegedly attacked three medical workers and one patient in Beijing Chaoyang Hospital on Monday, local police said.
The suspect, surnamed Cui, is a 36-year-old male, according to a statement released by the Beijing Public Security Bureau. The four injured are receiving treatment at hospitals and currently in stable condition.
The suspect was detained by the district public security bureau in Chaoyang, Beijing and the case is under investigation.
At around 2 pm on Monday, the violent incident happened at the ophthalmology department at the Beijing Chaoyang Hospital of Capital Medical University. An ophthalmologist, surnamed Tao, was seriously injured and suffered multiple injures by the kitchen knife held by Cui.
Earlier in December, a patient's relative fatally stabbed a doctor at the Civil Aviation General Hospital in Beijing and the suspect was sentenced to death on Thursday.
