Northeast China's Jilin province set a target of 5 to 6 percent for its gross domestic product growth in 2020, according to the government work report delivered on Sunday at the third session of the 13th Jilin Provincial People's Congress.

"The per capita disposable income for the province's urban and rural residents in 2020 is estimated to keep pace with economic growth," said Jing Junhai, governor of Jilin. "The consumer price index in 2020 is expected to rise around 3.5 percent year-on-year."

The report said Jilin achieved a GDP growth of around 3.5 percent in 2019. More than 375,600 jobs had been created for urban residents, ensuring its urban registered unemployment rate fell below 3.2 percent.

In 2020, the province aims to provide 210,000 more urban jobs.

In 2019, the province received a grain harvest and its output reached 38.78 billion kilograms, with an increase of 2.45 billion kilograms.

The province ranked first in the country in terms of net increase in grains, accounting for 41.26 percent of the country's total increase.

In 2019, the province continued to focus on improving the business environment as a top priority of reform and strived to solve the difficulties faced by the private economy.

"With the goal of completing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, we are poised to achieve overall victory in the fight against poverty in 2020," said Jing.

In 2020, the province will strive to keep the proportion of days with good air quality in cities at or above the prefectural level of the province over 85 percent.
