Man stabs female doctor to death in Beijing hospital

A female doctor at a hospital in eastern Beijing was stabbed to death on Tuesday morning by a man, who is a family member of a senior patient.

The man surnamed Sun, 55, stabbed the doctor Yang Wen at the Civil Aviation General Hospital around 5:55 am.

Sun is a family member of a 95-year-old patient who received emergency treatment at the hospital early Tuesday morning, according to media reports.

The man was caught for criminal detention on the spot.

A hospital staff member confirmed that the doctor was dead after all rescue measures proved ineffectual.
