Tourist train opens Hulunbuir to winter travel

A tourist train running on the Hulunbuir Prairie of North China's Inner Mongolia started operation on Sunday, filling a gap in China's high-end railway travel market, CRRC Corporation Limited announced.

Named "Hulunbuir", the train runs between Hailar railway station and Wangong railway station.

Adapted from 16 carriages of 25G rolling stock, the tourist train provides comprehensive services of sightseeing, food, accommodation and entertainment. It has business carriages, soft sleeper carriages, children's theme carriages, dining carriages and entertainment carriages. Each train can carry more than 200 passengers. The train, equipped with private bathrooms with a shower, tries to provide a hotel experience.

After witnessing the vast grassland and the quiet forests along the railway, passengers are sent directly to scenic spots.

Hulunbuir is an alluring travel destination in northern China, boasting grasslands, forests and lakes. However, due to its cold temperatures in winter and its remote location, the area usually only attracts visitors in the summer.

The tourist train aims to solve the problem as it can shield passengers inside from the frigid weather and run through the forests in winter, making Hulunbuir accessible during all seasons.
