Former CCTV anchor turns lens on China's wine culture
A new program showing a series of short videos which delve into China's traditional wine culture will be released on Xigua Video, Tik Tok and other short video streaming platforms owned by Beijing Bytedance Technology Co Ltd on Dec 20.
Sponsored by Huamao, a distiller from Maotai town in Southwest China's Guizhou province, the program, titled Duan Pian, will dig out the stories behind wine-related verses from ancient Chinese poems as well as interesting wine-related anecdotes over the long course of Chinese history.
The program will be hosted by Zhao Pu, a former CCTV anchor, who has been promoting traditional cultures and craftsmanship among newer generations after he left the broadcaster in 2015.
He said hosting a TV program is quite different from hosting a short-video program as it requires the production unit to grasp the viewers' attention during a short period of time and create a relaxing experience for them.
