Medical vehicles set off to offer services to women in poor areas

BEIJING - The China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) has partnered with China Construction Bank to send medical vehicles to provide medical services to women in poverty-stricken areas.
Under the charity program called "Healthy mother express," 53 ambulances were donated to county-level maternal and child health centers in poor areas in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and other seven provincial-level regions.
Medical teams aboard these vehicles will provide medical services to local women, including health examinations, disease treatment and maternal health care.
The "Healthy mother express" program, initiated by the CWDF in 2003, has seen medical equipment and over 2,600 ambulances donated to over 1,900 medical institutions at the grassroots level in 30 provincial-level regions, benefiting over 66 million women.
