Chen Minghua: Turning white porcelain into artistic works

In 1988, when Chen was only 22, she won the first and second prize in the Fujian Ceramic New Master Competition with her ceramic vases. This success made her more confident about using her own style in her artistic porcelain works.

During her 40-year porcelain-making career, she has devoted to researching porcelain-making skills and developing a unique but traditional style.

She is currently the Director of the Minghua Ceramic Art Research Institute in Dehua and a member of the Chinese Arts and Crafts Institute.
