Agricultural fair to be held in Yangling in October

The 26th China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair (CAF) will take place Oct 22-26 in Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Industries Demonstration Zone, Xianyang, Shaanxi province, according to a CAF statement on Sept 6.

The fair's theme this year is New Agriculture, New Countryside, New Farmers.

The event will focus on agricultural science and technology, international agricultural partnerships and exchanges and fighting for poverty alleviation.

There will be four indoor exhibition halls and four outdoor exhibition areas, with a total exhibition area of 180,000 square meters and 2,350 international standard booths.

The five-day event will include an opening ceremony, the 2019 Yangling Modern Agriculture Summit, China (Yangling) Digital Agriculture Conference, 2019 Yangling International Agri-Science Forum, the third Yangling International Seed Industry Innovation Forum, and the releases of several reports on China's agriculture industry. .

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Agriculture Summit will also be held during CAF, where officials from more than 50 countries will meet in to promote agricultural partnerships and exchange among SCO countries.

"The CAF will also hold exhibitions about rural revitalization and poverty alleviation and relevant forums to demonstrate and share Yangling's experience in these areas," said Li Jiuhong, deputy secretary general of the preparatory committee for the 26th CAF.

Launched in 1994, CAF has developed into a household name with a brand value of 87.119 billion yuan.
