Couple shares special moment at National Games for Persons with Disabilities
More than 100 volunteers in Tianjin for the ongoing 10th National Games for Persons with Disabilities used sign language to say, "You are my beloved and our love will last forever."
It was a message delivered on Aug 27 to a couple with hearing impairments, one of whom is an athlete competing in the event, the other a sign language TV hostess.
Chang Shangwen, a Tianjin basketball player with an hearing impairment, and his wife Zhu Mingjing, a sign language TV hostess at Tianjin Xiqing Converged Media Center, hugged each other to celebrate their ninth anniversary of falling in love and the fifth anniversary of their engagement.
Zhu, also an author, was a torch relay holder for the games. Born in Tianjin, she suffered from hearing lose during when she was four.
Her husband, Chang, was born in Shenyang, Liaoning province, and now plays for the Tianjin basketball team.
The organizing committee and Tianjin TV Station prepared the special moment for the couple.
More than 1,000 people witnessed the moment, with some bursting into tears.
Zhu expressed her feeling for reporters via WeChat: "It was the best gift I have gained and the most beautiful moment in my past 30 years of life, even more impressive than my wedding ceremony."
