The opening ceremony of the 2019 Beijing Design Week was held Aug 9 in Beijing's Shunyi district.
The theme "Design Leads Industry Upgrading, Guides Consumer Trends, Drives Trade Prosperity, and Empowers Urban Innovation", serves to characterize event activities, which include exhibitions, forums, lectures, workshops, interactive experiences and markets.
Events will be held in hutongs, cultural and creative parks, fashion centers and art venues, focusing on themes like urban renewal, intangible cultural heritage, design education, and cultural and creative industries.
Beijing Design Week ends Oct 7.
