Tourism website Mafengwo's recent data showed that the top 10 popular domestic destinations in July were Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Xi'an, Qingdao, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Xiamen and Dalian.
Among domestic trips in July, 26 percent traveled with their family members, and 30 percent were with their children.
Seaside cities such as Qingdao, Weihai, Beidaihe, Dalian and Qinhuangdao saw a sudden increase of popularity due to their cool summer weather.

The top 10 popular overseas destinations in July were Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Turkey, Maldives, South Korea, the Philippines and Australia.
For parents and children who traveled to Japan, most enjoyed themselves at Tokyo Disneyland and the Universal Studios in Osaka.
Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Hangzhou were major tourist source markets for visitors of Southeast Asian countries.
