Police condemn escalated violence in Hong Kong

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) descended into chaos, with business partially suspended and traffic paralyzed, on Sunday afternoon after masked protesters – for the second day in a row – launched an unauthorized assembly.
Thousands of protesters gathered in an unauthorized assembly in Hong Kong on Sunday, targeting several locations, including Hong Kong's Golden Bauhinia Square flag-raising venue in Wan Chai, the day after an illegal rally turned violent in the city's New Territories Yuen Long area.
By around 8 pm, protesters were dispersed from the Sai Ying Pun area, with some holding out in other adjacent areas. Train services to Sai Ying Pun, HKU and Kennedy Town stations was temporarily suspended around the same time.
Shortly after that, police were seen detaining some protesters at the scene.
