Police in Central China province seize 478 kg of drugs in 2018

ZHENGZHOU - Police in Central China's Henan province seized a total of 478 kg of drugs in 2018, the provincial public security department said Thursday.
The Henan police busted 2,175 drug cases and seized 593 tonnes of materials for manufacturing drugs last year.
The province stepped up efforts to crack down on drug crimes in 2018. The number of drug users in the province decreased 18.79 percent year on year.
Henan also launched a reward system for reporting drug crimes. In 2018, the police received 14,600 drug-related reports and offered a reward of 5.06 million yuan ($740,200) to those who provided valuable information. Thanks to the tips, police arrested 23 suspects and busted 384 drug cases with 77.5 kg of drugs seized.
