Around 40 chefs simultaneously made 118 different crayfish dishes in Central China's Hubei province, setting a new Chinese record for the most crayfish dishes prepared at one time.
The most attractive dish used 15,000 crayfish and seven flavors, said Chen Bo, a cooking coach at Qianjiang Crayfish Vocational College, based in Qianjiang.
"This activity will help the brand of crayfish more famous and bring crayfish to more people," said Lu Yongliang, chairman of the Hubei Famous Chefs Association.
In addition to the national record, 30 restaurants, 20 dishes and 20 master crayfish chefs were honored in Hubei province.
