Delivery drivers to be covered by injury insurance

China's capital will include delivery personnel into those covered by employment injury insurance, a key project to ensure staff members' legal rights this year, the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said on Thursday.
At present, there are a huge number of delivery drivers working for logistics companies in Beijing. But many haven't signed labor contracts with those companies' platforms. If they are injured on the job, it's hard for them to get their medical treatment expenses covered.
To deal with the situation, Beijing will draft an individual policy especially for delivery staff to enjoy the same employment injury insurance as contracted workers.
