Documentary to showcase China's beauty for 70th anniversary

Consequently, the production teams also focus on the inheritance of traditional cultures all over the country in the new season, especially those from border areas where traditions are being impacted by modern lifestyles. Examples range from an effort by a Tuvan band to revive folk music in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region to the herding life of the Tajik ethnic group.

In addition, the documentary also captures some breathtaking scenery at the borders of China to provide a global perspective, through places such as Detian Waterfalls on the Sino-Vietnamese border and the Pamirs in China and Pakistan.

"We want to shed overseas stereotypes of China when talking about its beauty, like pandas or the Great Wall," he said. "We'd like to present a China which people usually haven't seen."
