Two dragon boat-shaped installations were unveiled at Beijing's Parkview Green Fangcaodi on May 23, at the heart of a ceremony to launch a series of cultural events at the shopping mall to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival.

The festival is one of the country's major traditional events and falls on the fifth day of the fifth month on the lunar calendar and falls on June 7 this year.

Chinese artist Liu Ruowang has created two works that resemble a dragon boat, which is used for racing as part of the festival. Their animated, playful look conveys a dynamic spirit.

In addition to the installations, the shopping mall's interior is also decorated with patterns of dragon boats, rice puddings and waves that remind the visitors of the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
