BEIJING - A pilot project of circuit procuratorial inspection on prisons will be expanded nationwide in July, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP).
Wang Shouan, head of the fifth procuratorial division of the SPP, revealed the information during an online interview Saturday.
Covering 12 provincial regions, a year-long pilot project was launched last June to enhance the supervision of law enforcement within prisons.
During the circuit inspection, the procurators will conduct cross and spot checks on prisons.
Experts from other law enforcement agencies were also invited to join the circuit inspections.
