Xi's speech at CIIE draws positive reactions
Rachel Duan, senior vice-president, GE, president & CEO, GE China
I think President Xi sent a very clear message at the opening ceremony. It is a message of China's unequivocal support of globalization, free trade, and multi-lateral trade system.
I was also encouraged by his remarks on expanding China's import market, further broadening market access and fostering a world-class business environment in China.
As President Xi said, this inaugural CIIE will unleash another wave of high-quality growth opportunities in China after 40 years since China's opening up. This is encouraging for GE, a company that has been both a witness and beneficiary of China's extraordinary growth over the past 40 years. At GE, we look forward to growing with China even more in the years ahead.
