Daxin, a county bordering Vietnam to the south, leads in making use of renowned tourist attractions to create jobs, alleviate poverty and promote local economy.

Some 12,000 people work in the local tourism industry. In the last two years, a total of 5,570 people have been lifted out of poverty through tourism, among which 327 have got a job in the tourism industry.

"I only earned several thousands of yuan a year as a sugarcane grower in the past and worried much about the family's economic condition. Now I can make 1,900 yuan a month or more with double pay on weekends. It makes me happy," said Xu Wenying, who has worked in Mingshi Scenic Resort as a performer to sing folk songs for visitors.

Mingshi Scenic Resort is one of the six national AAAA tourist sites located in Daxin county featuring Karst landscapes, idyllic countryside views and Zhuang culture.

Last year, the number of travelers to Daxin reached over 6.5 million and the tourism consumption totaled around 5 billion yuan. This year, the two figures are expected to exceed 7 million and 5.3 billion yuan respectively.
