Mother of murdered woman to file lawsuit against daughter's former roommate
Jiang Qiulian, the mother of the 24-year-old Chinese female student murdered in Japan two years ago, said she will file a lawsuit in China against her daughter's former roommate to maintain the dignity of her beloved child.
The mother said on her Sina Weibo account on Monday that she received relevant legal documents about the case of her daughter, Jiang Ge, notarized by both Chinese and Japanese authorities and was ready to confront her daughter's roommate, Liu Xin, in court.
The mother said she would not allow Liu to stigmatize her daughter.
Jiang Ge, from Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, was stabbed to death in the corridor of her apartment by Chen Shifeng, Liu's ex-boyfriend, on Nov 3, 2016. She was completing her postgraduate studies in Japan when she was killed. Chen was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a Japanese court in Tokyo on Dec 20 last year.
