The Great Wall of Datong, built from the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), is a famous world cultural heritage site in Shanxi province.
It has a long history and still stands tall and straight after hundreds of years of wind and rain.
The city of Datong was a strategic military town fought over by rival groups throughout history, because of its location on the border between different cultures, nomadic and agricultural.
