State Council appoints, removes officials

BEIJING -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced Monday that Xu Jianpei was appointed vice president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Xu took the place of Wang Xiaodong, according to a statement issued by the State Council.
Nie Furu was appointed assistant minister of public security, the statement said.
