After being transported to Russia during the FIFA world cup, crawfish from Hubei province arrived in Dubai by air on Friday to "conquer" local diners, the Wuhan Evening News reported.
The 5,000 crawfish, with a weight of 270 kilograms, departed on July 26 from a crawfish farm in Hubei and arrived in Dubai 25 hours later.
To taste the crustaceans, one of China's favorite dishes, people in Dubai would have to pay 299 dirhams ($81.4) for a 750-gram portion of cooked crawfish, seven times higher than the price in the domestic market.
