Interview: Ukraine official on CPC Congress, Belt and Road and bilateral ties
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and Ukraine.
As part of the celebration, the first Chinese-Ukrainian scholars’ high academic dialogue was held in Beijing on Thursday.
During the event, Victor Ponomaryov, minister-counselor at the Ukraine embassy, received an exclusive interview with China Daily website to discuss bilateral relations, the Belt and Road Initiative and host of other issues.
He praised the achievements of the 19th CPC National Congress, calling the congress of "vital importance" to Ukraine and the world. Ponomaryov said China-Ukraine ties have a bright future.
Ukraine was one of the first European countries to support and join the Belt and Road Initiative. He believed the initiative will open up more opportunities to the world. For Ukraine particularly, infrastructure and industrial development will benefit.
