4 killed, 3 injured after boat overturns in east China

HEFEI - Four people died and three others were injured after a ferry boat overturned in eastern China's Anhui province Monday morning, local authorities said.
The boat carrying 39 farmers on board overturned on a river in Mengji Township of Huoqiu County on Monday morning, according to a statement from the county government.
The three injured are now in stable condition. Another 32 have been saved. The county dispatched more than 400 people to participate in the rescue.
The driver of the boat, surnamed Wang, has been taken into police custody.
Further investigation is under way.
