Foreign Minister to visit Russia this week

Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay an official visit to Russia Thursday and Friday, during which the two sides "will make political preparations for bilateral high-level exchanges", Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said on Wednesday.
During his visit, Wang will meet Russian leaders and hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Lu said. The visit is part of the annual exchange mechanism between the foreign ministers of the two countries.
The two sides will exchange in-depth views on global and regional issues that concern by both sides, he said.
The two countries will strengthen communication and cooperation in accordance with the consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the face of the complex global situation, Lu said.
China and Russia will maintain bilateral relations moving forward at a high level and inject more positive energy of peace and stability for the region and the world, he added.
