FM: China to present an 'unforgettable' APEC meeting

BEIJING - China will present a "splendid, successful and unforgettable" APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Saturday.

China has focused on the meeting's leading role, strategic vision, innovative spirit and pragmatic approach in the preparation work, Wang said at a press conference.

China has proposed to design a roadmap for the launching of the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) and a blueprint for connectivity development among APEC members, Wang said.

China also proposed to issue a commemorative statement for the 25th anniversary of APEC, he said.

China has been promoting cooperation on Internet economy and urbanization among APEC members, he said.

China proposed a target of more than 800 million international tourists by 2025 within 21 APEC member economies. It also proposed that new energy double its share in the Asia-Pacific region's energy structure and the validity period of APEC business travel card be extended from three years to five years, he said.
