BEIJING - A media center for global media to cover the 2014 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings started operation at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing Wednesday.

Major Chinese media outlets launching their APEC reporting centers in the media center include Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television (CCTV) and China National Radio (CNR).

Xinhua has sent more than 200 reporters and editors to cover the week-long events. It will provide multi language news reports, as well as photo, TV and new media coverage.

The CNCC is close to Beijing's landmark buildings for the 2008 Olympics, the National Stadium and the National Aquatics Center.

Besides the CNCC media center, the event will have another media center at the Yanqi Lake in northern suburb of Beijing, where the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held on Nov 10-11.

More information are available at the media center's website http://mediacenter.apec-china.org.cn.

In the upcoming week, Beijing will host a series of APEC events, including the APEC Ministerial Meeting, APEC CEO Summit, APEC Business Advisory Council Dialogue with Leaders, and the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.
