APEC finance officials meeting held in Fuzhou

The 2014 Senior Finance Officials Meeting (SFOM) of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) was held in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province, on May 20.

Participants included finance officials from 21 entities, including China, Australia, Brunei, Canada and Chile as well as representatives from international institutes including the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Fujian province has close ties with APEC members in economy and trade. And Fuzhou and Xiamen have friendly relations with 14 APEC members with extensive cooperation in various fields.

In 2013, trade value between Fujian and APEC members reached $102.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.8 percent. Meanwhile, investments from Fujian to APEC members reached $510 million, while investments by APEC members in Fujian is $4.9 billion.
