JAKARTA - Two moderate quakes measuring 5.3 and 5.0 on Ricther scale jolted Indonesia on Sunday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.
The 5.3-magnitude quake struck at 04:31 am Jakarta time Sunday (2131 GMT) with epicenter 199 km northwest of Saumlaki town of Maluku province and with a depth of 210 km, the agency said.
One hour and nine minutes earlier, the other quake hit Sumatra island with epicenter 65 km of southwest Bintuhan town of Bengkulu province and with a depth of 24 km, it said.
Indonesia sits on a quake-prone called "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
